Music’s Biggest Night

This week we’re celebrating the 59th annual Grammy Awards. We’ll tell you which artists we are excited to see perform and our predictions for Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best New Artist.

Kat: Can’t even describe how excited I was when the Recording Academy confirmed that Katy Perry was performing! It’s like she heard our cries in last week’s segment. My guess is she’ll be performing her new single “Chained to the Rhythm”. Welcome back Katy, we missed you! You can buy her new single on iTunes!

If you know me, you know I’m always excited to see Bruno Mars! Always!

The Lady Gaga and Metallica duet intrigues me! I’m actually really looking forward to seeing this.

As a 70s baby and lifelong Bee Gees fan, I’m really happy about this much deserved special segment celebrating their music.

Matt: The Grammys have confirmed that there will be tributes to both Prince and George Michael, but they aren’t announcing any of the performers or songs beforehand. I’ll definitely be interested in seeing who the mystery guests will be — Elton John‘s gotta be involved somehow, right?

I’m also excited to see Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Metallica, and The Weeknd with Daft Punk.

Record of the Year Nominees: Hello (Adele), Formation (Beyoncè), 7 Years (Lukas Graham), Work (Rihanna featuring Drake) and Stressed Out (21 Pilots)

Kat: The obvious choice is Hello (Adele), but 7 Years (Lukas Graham) is my very close second choice.

Matt: No doubt this will go to Adele, but I’d love to see Beyoncé walk away with it.

Best Pop Solo Performance Nominees: Hello (Adele), Hold Up (Beyoncé), Love Yourself (Justin Bieber), Piece By Piece -Idol Version (Kelly Clarkson) and Dangerous Woman (Ariana Grande)

Kat: I’m going with Dangerous Woman (Ariana Grande) or Piece By Piece -Idol Version (Kelly Clarkson).

Matt: I could actually see Justin Bieber picking this one up, unless Adele just sweeps the whole evening.

Best New Artist Nominees: Kelsea Ballerini, The Chainsmokers, Chance The Rapper, Maren Morris and Anderson .Paak

Kat: The Chainsmokers

Matt: The Chainsmokers. Obviously.

Check out The Grammy Awards, hosted by James Corden, to see if our predictions are correct! The show airs Sunday (February 12) at 8pm Eastern Time (1am for our UK pals) on CBS!
